The Mirror

The mirror tells me I’m alive and well
All of my friends can’t seem to tell
That the best part of my heart is gone
Since you left me to face my life alone.

Chorus:
I can’t breathe and I don’t eat
I can’t sleep and my heart doesn’t beat.
Every day and night takes an eternity of moments alone, so empty.
Now that I’m without you and me.
But I’m alive and well, the mirror tells me.

I was fine before I ever met you.
Work and play, now and then try something new
I looked in your eyes and I’d never felt that way before
And with you in my life, I wanted so much more.

Chorus:
I can’t breathe and I don’t eat
I can’t sleep and my heart doesn’t beat.
Every day and night takes an eternity of moments alone, so empty.
Now that I’m without you and me.
But I’m alive and well, the mirror tells me.

I miss who I was when you loved me.
The strength and sweetness only you could see.
I changed with you, became someone better and new.
But when I grew up, your love changed too.
And now…

Chorus:
I can’t breathe and I don’t eat
I can’t sleep and my heart doesn’t beat.
Every day and night takes an eternity of moments alone, so empty.
Now that I’m without you and me.
But I’m alive and well, the mirror tells me.

So the mirror tells me…
